Independent Living Skills

CVI offers services to individuals who may need assistance in certain areas of their lives. We recognize that if certain aspects of life are disrupted or not in place this can jeopardize one’s employment or become a barrier to employment.

CVI has a classroom that is fitted with a full operating kitchen that provides the individual with some hands on instruction on home living. ILS services are provided in a classroom setting or a one to one basis. Some areas that individuals may need assistance with but are not limited to:

  • Cooking
  • Apartment living
  • Bus training
  • Setting up transportation services
  • Housing
  • Social Security
  • Money Management
  • Time Management
  • Setting up health care services
  • Connecting with community resources
  • Establishing a social network
  • Locating and obtaining assistive technology
  • Legal assistance or guidance
